Enjoy an exclusive guided tour of the wonderful Benedictine Basilica of Sant’Angelo in Formis and the Amphitheatre of Santa Maria Capua Vetere: did you know that it was the first to be built in Italy and that it is the second largest of the country after the Colosseum?
The ticket also includes a visit to one of the most important Mithreum in the world located near the Amphitheatre.
Before continuing your tour, you will have lunch near the Amphitheatre.
The tour ends with a walk with our guide in the old town centre of Capua. The city was founded in 856 on the ashes of Casilinum by the Langobard brothers Landone and Landolfo and is seat of one of the oldest dioceses of Christianity.
The tour starts at 9:30 at the Benedictine Basilica of Sant’Angelo in Formis and then continues with a visit to the archaeological park of Santa Maria Capua Vetere. The journey, including the visit to the Mithraeum, lasts two hours with a lunch break at the end.
The visit of Capua and its old centre is scheduled at 15:00.
The tour finishes at 17:30.
Bring your walking shoes and an umbrella to shelter you from any rain.
